Kaiser Permanente Northwest Hospitals
(Oregon and Southwest Washington)
ADULT VOLUNTEERS
Kaiser Permanente values the commitment our community shows through our volunteers. We appreciate the adults who are either giving of their time because they have completed their professional careers or are looking for something meaningful to do with time they have open. Some may just be looking for a moment of calm in their so busy schedule!
Volunteers make connections every day in our hospitals and provide the opportunity to serve others. Your life experiences make these connections important and relevant to our members. We need individuals who are caring and compassionate, who can show empathy and be helpful. You will be providing important services such as: assisting members to their appointments, assisting with wheelchair transports, nursing and office support, emergency department support, patient packet production, gift shop assistance (Westside only), and visiting with patients.
Some things we can provide for you in return for your compassionate service include meal allowances, special appreciation events, free access to the hospital work out fitness rooms and benefits provided by area businesses to our hospital staff.
There is room for you and we are excited to receive your application, so we can help you become a Kaiser volunteer.
REQUESTED MINIMUM COMMITMENT REQUIREMENT
Our adult volunteer program requires a minimum commitment of 200 hours* in 1 year on a weekly basis of at least four hours a week. We ask all volunteers to have enough flexibility in their schedules to commit to volunteering. Adults must have weekday availability. If you work full time and/or go to school, it will be difficult for us to provide you with an accommodating schedule.
*Pet therapy and eucharist programs have unique hourly requirements.
